Search tip: If searching for the beginning portion of a part number, add a wildcard character "*" to the end of the string.

Site Search Help

Search for ... The site search allows you to search for a single or a combination of terms as defined below:

• Complete words.
• Phrases. A phrase may be enclosed in quotes or if you are searching for a single phrase, you can use the Exact phrase entered option from the Using options box (see below).
• The beginning of a word. A wildcard search may be performed by adding an asterisk (*) at the end of a word. For example, searching for magnet* will find pages that contain magnet, magnetic and magnets.

Using - Allows you to specify the type of search you wish to perform:

• All of the words - This search option will return pages containing all of the words or phrases entered in the Search for box.
  For example, a search for circuit 300A will return pages that contain both circuit and 300A.
  A search for "circuit breaker" 300A will return pages that contain the word 300A and the phrase circuit breaker.
  A search for AC 100V* will return pages that contain the word AC and the words 100V, 100VAC, ...
• Any of the words entered - This search option will return results containing any of the words of phrases entered in the Search for box.
  For example, a search for 3m sealant will return pages that contain 3m or sealant or both.
  A search for "circuit breaker" 600A will return pages that contain the phrase circuit breaker or the word 600A or both.
  A search for "circuit breaker" 480V* will return all pages that contain the phrase circuit breaker or the words 480V, 480VAC, ...
or both.
• The exact phrase entered - This search option will return pages containing matches for a single phrase entered in the Search for box. Do not enclose the phrase in quotes or use wildcards with this type of search.
• Boolean search - For advanced users, this search allows you to use the logical operators OR,  AND and AND NOT to construct queries. Operands may be single words, quoted phrases or wildcard words.

Search tips

• The site search is NOT case sensitive, you can enter your search terms in upper or lower case
• Avoid using common words such as for, any or at unless used as part of a phrase. These words will be ignored unless using a exact or quoted phrase match.
• Avoid using punctuation characters such as &, |, ^, #, @, $, (, )
